Performance Evaluation of Bank Alfalah Limited
Abstract
Bank Alfalah Limited is one of the largest private limited banks of Pakistan, which is providing financial services to the customer under the charge and ownership of Abu-Dahbi group. The bank is also engaged in corporate and retail banking. Recently the bank is focus on expansion to strengthen its presence in market. According to the banking report of 2009, the bank has 321 branches. Among them 60 branches are Islamic banking branches and seven foreign branches. Seven overseas branches are in three different countries, 5 foreign branches situated in Bangladesh and 2 in Afghanistan and one offshore department in Bahrain.
In this whole study the general quire is divided into four chapters which include BAL’s performance evaluation, history, working policy and operation.
Chapter one, represents the outline of the origin of the study, mission which is include with starting place, objectives and limitation of the study. Chapter two highlights the background of the bank, their working activities and internal operations. After that chapter three is basically based on performance evaluation of BAL by Ratio analysis and SWOT analysis. Finally in chapter four, I have tried to put some suggestion and recommendations based on identified problem and finished with conclusion.
During this study I realized that BAL has the capacity of coping with changing environment and if the bank will keep on moving and can set their benchmark compare to competitors, bank Alfalah-“The Caring Bank” can be the top level bank among banking industry.
