The focus is on critical supply chain functions, with a specific emphasis on the practical experience gained during the internship in inventory and operational
management, and the effectiveness of these strategies in supporting Domino's organizational objectives. Throughout the internship, I actively contributed to key areas of supply chain operations at Domino’s Bangladesh, gaining hands-on experience in the core processes that ensure supply chain efficiency. In the indent planning process, I participated in the development of order forecasts to maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring adequate product availability across outlets. In managing the days of inventory, I was involved in monitoring stock turnover to strike a balance between maintaining sufficient product levels and minimizing holding costs. This experience highlighted the importance of efficient inventory control in meeting both operational demands and cost management goals.
My role also extended to calculating fill rates to assess the availability of products and their readiness to meet customer demand. This involved analyzing supply consistency to reduce the risk of stockouts and maintain high service levels. Additionally, I worked on the on-time inventory fulfillment process, ensuring that products were delivered within specified timeframes to support
Domino’s commitment to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
These practical experiences offered valuable insights into the complex dynamics of Domino’s supply chain operations and the critical role each function plays in supporting the company’s broader objectives. Through this hands-on approach, I developed a comprehensive understanding of how effective inventory management, accurate demand forecasting, and timely delivery impact
the company’s overall performance.
The report also includes an overview of Domino’s SCM process including Planning, production, Warehouse management, inventory management, logistics, transportation, sourcing, etc. While the three-month timeframe limited data collection and analysis scope, this report provides a well rounded view of Domino’s operational efficiencies and the impact of robust supply chain practices on maintaining competitive advantage, enhancing profitability, and fostering customer satisfaction.
